WEEK 84 - SEPTEMBER 2003
Say Bye to the Hair.
We finally did it. Grandma came to visit (Cheryl’s mom), and she cuts hair, so we decided to go for it. It was time to say bye to all those golden curls, and we were tired of saying “No, he’s a boy, we just haven’t cut his hair yet.”
What is it with haircuts? It doesn’t hurt, but kids act like you’re torturing them. Joshua was no exception. But like most things we try to do but he won’t let us, bribery worked just fine. It took two suckers and a cookie, but he sat still and let Grandma go to work.
When all was said and done, brother Andrew exclaimed, “Finally, now he looks like a he!”
Cheryl’s comment, “I don’t know, he still looks like a girl to me, just a girl with short hair.”
My thoughts – “I can’t believe we cut his hair. Couldn’t we have waited another year or five?”
At least we saved all his curls, probably the only curls he’ll every have (unless long hair is back “in” when he’s a teenager).
Hey, maybe I could tape his curls back on. Or maybe glue or something.
