THE MEAN DAD

Today I was talking to two parents as their six-month-old crawled back and forth across the room. He would crawl to one wall, turn around and crawl to the other wall. He went back and forth a number of times, giggling in delight as he went. Then the dad did something that was really way to funny to be considered mean. As the infant was nearing one wall, crawling at full speed, his dad dropped a baby blanket over his head.

You would think that after so many laps back and forth, this baby would have figured out where the wall was. It appears this was not the case. He proceeded to plow headfirst, blind as a bat and giggling the whole way, into the wall. A slightly hollow-sounding "thunk" echoed through the room as his giggling came to an end. It was a very shocked face that looked around at us as the very guilty dad pulled the blanket off his baby's head.

Things like this just make my day so much fun.
