Need help with habits?

If you’re trying to develop certain habits, you need to give yourself some help sometimes. For example, I take an omega-3 oil supplement and have recommended them to my patients for years. But many times I forget to take them myself. I leave the bottle on the kitchen counter as a reminder, but inevitably, somebody puts the bottle away in the pantry and before I know it, it’s been three days or a week since I took them. I always wished that I had someone to remind me, and then I realized that I do – and it’s usually in my back pocket!

I’m talking about my cell phone! I simply set an alarm and now, every day at 8am, I get a friendly little reminder to take my O-3’s! This was working really well, so now my cell phone reminds me of many things throughout the day.
