MY THREE-YEAR-OLD DIPS EVERYTHING IN KETCHUP. HELP!
"My three year-old likes to dip everything in ketchup, the problem is that he insists on having a whole plateful to dip in. After just a few dips, he starts saying that he needs more, even though he still has a plateful of ketchup. This is driving me crazy!"

My youngest brother, Stephen, was nicknamed "The Ketchup King" because he always had to have the entire plate full of ketchup! Now, my four year-old is the same way. He needs a big pile of ketchup that takes up half the plate or he will throw a fit. After a few dips of french-fries, the ketchup gets spread out a bit and, "I need more Ketchup." "But Jonathan, you have a lot of ketchup on your plate." "I NEED MORE!"

I stumbled onto the solution to this conflict just a few months ago when we went to a restaurant for dinner. The ketchup was served in small round 2 oz. plastic containers with lids. Jonathan thought these were great! He could dip all he wanted and only asked for one refill because the container always looked full. I grabbed a few extra to take home and now I keep these ready in the refrigerator. I wish all of Jonathan's "quirks" were this easy to solve!
