Helping Mom: Labor Tips for Dad

On mom’s big day, dad can be the most helpful person in the delivery room. You can be there from beginning to end, helping your wife with the birth. Here are three labor tips for dad to help you be as supportive as possible for the mother of your new child:

1. Be a “gopher.”

Encourage your wife to rest in whatever nest she has prepared while you serve her food and drink.

2. Offer massages and back rubs.

Make sure that you provide whatever physical and emotional support she requests. A soothing massage, a caring caress, a passionate kiss, even a simple foot rub can be blissful relief to a laboring mother.
