Rightstart Techniques

How a baby and mother get started with one another can determine whether breastfeeding is a long and pleasurable experience or a short and uncomfortable one. As a lactation consultant, I, Martha, encourage all first-time mothers to seek help from a professional lactation consultant, preferably within the first day or two of birth. The right-start techniques that you will now learn are based upon my experience in breastfeeding eight of our children and what I have learned over the many years as a lactation consultant. For most mothers who get the right start, both mom and baby will enjoy a long and pleasurable experience.
